Looking for a some deep relaxation this weekend? Yoga Nidra practice is an extremely effective way to recharge your body/mind. Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep” or sleep with a slight trace of awareness. It is practiced lying on our backs, with support of pillows and/or props, a super posh savasana. In Yoga Nidra you are verbally led by the instructor through various stages of awareness to reboot our systems.
“Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, we are not only relaxing, but restructuring and reforming our whole personality from within. Like the mythological phoenix, with every session we are burning the old samskaras, habits and tendencies in order to be born anew.” – Swami Satyananda Saraswati.
In Yoga Nidra we create a Sankalpa, or a positive resolution/heart’s desire. A well-crafted Sankalpa is like a rudder that helps you to steer skillfully through life, and, when paired with Yoga Nidra, your Sankalpa becomes more deeply embedded in your unconscious mind, making it stronger and even more likely to create positive change in your life.
“You are what your deepest and driving desire is.” – Rod Stryker.
Come join me to set your intention deep within. See you on the mat!
