Jenny Hayo, E-RYT, Teacher Training Staff Member
Jenny Hayo, C-IAYT, ERYT-500 is a certified yoga therapist who has been teaching yoga for over 20 years. Her relationship with yoga has had many lives – originally studying the physical form through the Ashtanga and Iyengar systems, she gradually shifted into extensive study of the more subtle aspects of the eight limbed system including pranayama and meditation. First introduced to the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali by her teacher Jo Leffingwell, she credits her sutra studies as one of the most significant shifts in her life. Since then, she has sought out practice lineages that center awareness as the primary purpose of practice. Jenny’s work with Tibetan Buddhist teacher Reginald Ray bridged the gap between the physical form and the meditative state leading her to a deep study of embodiment and the awakened state. She sees the body not as an object to be mastered, but as a vehicle for awakening. Jenny is known for the clarity of her instruction and her ability to meet students at any stage of their journey.
Main Influences: Iyengar Yoga, Mindfulness Meditation, Buddhism, Therapeutic Yoga, Yogic Psychology through the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
