Chiara Guerrieri, E-RYT 500, YACEP, Teacher Training Staff Member
What to expect in Chiara’s Classes: Chiara teaches us how to connect with the body through the breath, how to track physical sensation moment to moment and how to find an internal sense that guides movement and choices for wellbeing. In both her SoulMat & Hatha yoga classes, expect to go slowly, to pay attention to your body and breath, and to explore alignment. An important aspect of Chiara’s teaching is to help students learn when – and from where – to stabilize or mobilize. Expect the wisdom of a 30-year teaching career, plus a good dose of humor, to infuse each class.
Main Influences/Styles/Traditions: SoulMat with Patrizia Gavoni, Hatha Yoga with Bob Smith, Forrest Yoga with Ana Forrest, Shari Fredrickson, ParaYoga with Rod Stryker, and dance from around the world.
Chiara Guerrieri teaches Anatomy & Non-Violent Communications in the 8 Limbs Grounded Wisdom Teacher Training. She loves to communicate her passion for understanding how the body moves and can move with care and consideration for its wellness. Chiara began her studies of the body in Italy growing up as the daughter of a PE teacher and a basketball coach. In college she studied Physical Education and after moving to the US continued her formation attending massage school eventually teaching Anatomy and Physiology at the same after graduation. A student of meditation since 1983, she began practicing yoga in 1985 following a car accident that brought her some physical challenges. Studying yoga showed her the role of the breath as a key to healing and living more fully in the body.
