November 21-22, 2020
Livestream with Jenny Hayo
Prāṇāyāma is the practice of stretching the everyday limits of the breath to facilitate health and Self-discovery. One of the great tools of the eight limbed yoga system, pranayama is a deeply sophisticated practice that merits intensive study. This workshop advances the use of breath to explore the relationship between the nervous system, the pranic field (subtle body) and consciousness. Practitioners will continue their studies of nadis (energy channels), bandhas (energetic locks), kumbhakas (retentions) and dhāraṇā (concentration) as assistants on the path of awakened consciousness. This workshop is designed for those who have a foundational understanding of healthy breathing and basic prāṇāyāma techniques including diaphragmatic breathing, Ujjayi, and Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing.)
Prerequisite for this course: prior study of pranayama, preferably with Jenny Hayo (Art of Breathing Series or Intro to Pranayama).
