In this installment of Nancy’s Advancing Asana series, experience a grand tour around your hips. Create opening in your quads, IT Bands, outer hips, hamstrings, and inner thighs. Some of our poses will include Virasana (Hero’s Pose) and variations (Supta and Eka Pada), Hanumanasana, Pigeon Pose variations, and more. Leave feeling like the old, stale energy has been cleared out and that there is room to grow new ideas and endeavors.
1 yoga blanket or large beach towel
2 blocks or stacks of books
1 strap, tie, or belt
Please have at least one year of regular yoga practice to participate.

Advancing Asana: Forward Folds
Saturday, November 21, 2:00-4:00pm
Fall Beckons that we slow down and turn inward. Svadhaya (self-reflection/study) is one of the most important Niyamas (the second limb of yoga) because it invites us to look inside. The more we understand what’s occurring inside ourselves the more skillful we are in navigating through life. Forward folds are naturally grounding and calming and lend nicely to be paired with supported cooling inversions. The end of the practice will also include time for breath work to augment the experience of being deeply embodied in our final rest, Savasana.
Leave with the feeling of insightful rest.
Please have at least 1 year regular practice
