An experiential practice in being tender as a way to respond to life with heart-wisdom.

Is your inner critic bossing you around? Did you know that your nervous system responds to harsh inner dialogue in the same way that it does to life threatening dangers? Join Tracy and Ashley as they offer concrete steps for shifting into a more compassionate conversation with yourself and restoring balance to your nervous system.

The intention of this daylong retreat is to give participants direct experience of kindness, and demonstrate how kindness towards self improves health and fosters greater access to innate creativity and compassionate wisdom. It will include two full, gentle asana practices interwoven with meditation, introspection, Nidra (done in a reclining position), and kindness practices.

Please bring a journal, a pen, and any props you might need to be comfortable. Tea and light afternoon snacks will be provided. All levels of experience and ability are welcome.

About your Instructors:

Tracy Hodgeman – Tracy began teaching yoga in 1995. She is fascinated with the therapeutic applications of yoga—particularly how simple breath, movement, and mindfulness can bring about such immense healing and relief. Tracy and Ashley Dahl have been offering Self- Compassion Workshops together for several years. Tracy holds teaching certificates from the Ashtanga Yoga School, 8 Limbs Yoga Centers, and Yoga Tune Up®. She currently leads weekly yoga classes, several yearly retreats and monthly workshops, and is a member of 8 Limbs Yoga Centers’ 200hr Teacher Training faculty.

Ashley Dahl, MSW – A champion of compassionate self-awareness, Ashley possesses a keen ability to infuse mindfulness into daily life and relationships. She brings humor and a presence of calm thoughtfulness as she blends the teachings of wisdom traditions and science with modern culture. Ashley is trained in mindfulness meditation through the Mindfulness Training Institute, studying under Mark Coleman and Martin Aylward. Ashley formerly served as Executive Director for 8 Limbs.
