At 8 Limbs Yoga, you will find Hatha Yoga classes that are instructional, insightful, and appropriate to your level of yoga experience. Our experienced and highly trained instructors are all unique individuals who bring their own expertise and passion to their classes.
8 Limbs has four Seattle neighborhood locations, each with a full schedule of classes. To best navigate our offerings, visit our tips on using the 8 Limbs Schedule
The technology we use to create our calendars - Trumba Connect technology (http://www.trumba.com) - makes your lives and ours at 8 Limbs a lot easier.
With 8 Limbs calendars:
- You can more easily locate through studio, teacher, and class type filters the specific classes you're interested in and remember to attend them.
- You choose the Calendar View format that works best for you: table, month, day, performance schedule, or detail list.
- You can import class information to your personal calendar and set up reminders, get notified of changes and subs, and invite your friends to attend a class with you.
- Because all 8 Limbs staff members can easily and conveniently maintain and update the new calendars, you always have access to the very latest class information.
Take a minute to explore our new website calendars. We've provided a few pointers to help you get the most out of the calendars' features.
Choose the studio nearest you
Are you interested in the full range of classes no matter which studio they're taught at? Or, do you care only about classes taught at the studio nearest where you live? To control the “mix-in”, just check or uncheck the boxes to the left of each studio name.
Delve into the details
You can't always tell from just a name whether a class is right for you or not. Learn more about any class by clicking on its name to open an event details page, including detailed description, additional notes, and a map icon to provide map and directions to the studio.
To return to the calendar, click the Back to 8 Limbs Calendar link at the bottom of the event details page.
Quickly identify activities you care about
One of the most convenient things about our new calendars is the way you can use search and filters to zero in on events you care about.
To try this out, in the Search Calendar box type “basic” and then click Go. The calendar responds by displaying only events that contain the keyword “basic.” Click Clear above the calendar to see all the events again.
To see all the classes taught by a specific teacher, choose that teacher's name from the Filter by Teacher list. Click Clear above the calendar to see all the events again.
View class schedules your way
When you first visit the calendar, you'll see the classes arranged in a space-saving Table view. We chose this view as the default as it provides a quick scan of classes and includes the most pertinent information. Try the Day view from the Calendar View list to see all the classes of one day arranged like a day planner.
But let's say you want to see all of the occurrences of a certain type of class listed together. Choose Performance Schedule and that's exactly what you get. This makes it easy to choose the classes that you can actually attend when importing to your own calendar. Experiment with some of the other views to see which you prefer. The view in place when you leave the calendar is the view you'll see the next time you visit it.
Make calendar events work for you
One of the main reasons we switched to Trumba calendars is that the events they contain are active and ready to work for you.
To experiment with active events, select the little check boxes to the left of one or two of the events on the calendar. Then, try taking the following actions.
Add events to your personal calendar
Click the Add to my calendar button at the top of the calendar. A window opens that contains a list of calendar programs, such as Google Calendar, Apple iCal, and Microsoft Office Outlook. Select the calendar program you use, and then follow instructions to quickly add classes from the 8 Limbs calendar to your own personal calendar. Close the window and return to the 8 Limbs calendar.
Arrange to be notified if classes change
Ever showed up at a class that's been cancelled? Or discover that you have a substitute teacher only after you arrive? You can arrange to be notified of changes to classes you regularly attend. In the Other Events Actions list, select Notify Me of Changes. In the window that opens, type your name and email address. If anything about the class changes before it's scheduled to occur, you'll hear about it. Close the window.
Set text message or email reminders
Afraid you'll forget to attend a class? Set up an email reminder for the day ahead and text message reminder for half an hour before the event. Click the Remind me by email button. In the window that opens, choose when you want to receive the reminder, type your name and email address, and then click Set Reminder. In the same window, under Event Actions on the left, click Remind me by txt msg. Choose when you want to receive the reminder, type your cell phone number, select your carrier, and then click Set Reminder. Close the window.
Let your friends know about events you think they might want to attend
Have some friends who expressed interest in starting yoga? Want to get a group together to attend a specific class? You can quickly forward information about classes on the 8 Limbs calendar to up to ten friends. In the Other Event Actions list, select Forward to Friends. Type your name and email address, your friends email addresses, the note you want to send them, and then click Send Email. Close the window and return to the calendar.
