The word radical comes from the word root. To pull up the roots of injustice, to be radical, takes energy and strength. Whether we’ve been engaged in social activism for years, or have just come to the awareness of injustice, we all need to balance our outward action by resourcing and nourishing our bodies, minds, and hearts.
Restorative yoga is designed to restore your vital energy, rather than use it. In this extended restorative practice, you will be guided into passive and slightly active poses with the support of props. Mary will speak specifically to the hard but essential work of being a racial and social activist.
This class is open to all people, of all levels of yoga experience.
Tuition: This workshop will be offered at three rate options to support meaningful access at different economic levels. If you are able to invest in social justice work and support our efforts to make this workshop and others accessible, please consider the SUPPORTING rate. If you need financial support to access this workshop, purchase at the SUPPORTED rate, otherwise SUSTAINING is the market value rate that takes into account the teacher’s pay and 8 Limbs expenses.
